A Visitor & Removing Wallpaper

Finally got to getting our bird feeder on the go. I'm sure this blue jay appreciated it in the dead of winter.

Today was the day that we really started ripping the kitchen apart. We've been doing our research, figuring out what we want and visiting home renovation stores. Decided to take down the wallpaper in the kitchen and thought it would take several days. And thanks to my daughter in law, it didn't. She suggested a mix of hot water and liquid fabric softener to be sprayed/sponged on and it worked amazingly well. Wallpaper gone in less than an hour!

Kitchen minus Upper Cupboards; really opens up the space!

Dining area; wallpaper gone. So much brighter!

  1. Great tip about the wallpaper removal liquid and everything does look so much brighter! Will you be putting shelves up on the bare walls in the kitchen? Also, if you two see a cardinal, take lots of photos. Apparently they are pretty rare in Nova Scotia! Something we always took for granted in Ontario right? Have a great day! wendy

  2. Hey Wendy
Yes we are putting up shelves on the bare walls in the kitchen. I loved seeing the cardinals in our backyard in Hamilton. So far no cardinals here. Apparently a robin was spotted already but hard to believe with all the snow. Poor robin will have a hard time finding any worms!
